Getting the water ready for our technician. This is a guide to opening a standard sprinkler system
Step one: Close the boiler drain valve on the backflow prevention device. (located outside the house)
In some cases, the testports on your backflow unit may have been left open during winterization to prevent freeze damage. You will need to close these by using a flet head screwdriver to turn the screws 1/4 turn in either direction. Step two: Slowly open the sprinkler main valve (usually located in the basement near the water supply) Often this valve is marked with an orange tag.
